The Experimenter is a bath bomb from Lush. It was released last year(2015) along with the new store in London, on Oxford Street. At first it was just exclusive to Oxford Street, but now its available in every Lush store around the world (I think). I went there and saw it but didn't have enough money left to buy it! Plus I didn't really like the smell back then -I thought it smelt of cardboard and wood which wasn't very appealing but I think you have to give products a chance in Lush, because they can smell different in the shop around other products than at home -The smell of lush shops can be overpowering with lots of different smells going on.
This bath bomb isn't exactly womanly or manly, it's for everyone -although any bath bomb can be used by anyone, you know what I am trying to say. I like this bath bomb because it looks different to all the others. It's design was well thought out and they did a good job with it!
Vetivert Oil Fair Trade Vanilla Abolute Tonka Absolute
It smelt of Parma Violet sweets crossed with Love Heart sweets. So COMPLETELY different to what I imagined it would smell like when I ordered it. It smelt WAY better in the bath too. It's in A hexagonal shape and one side is half pink, half blue and the other side is half gold half white. Then in the middle it has purple going all around. Inside it's a whole other world! Wait and see!
It put on a really good show! As soon as it hit the water it burst into loads of colors straight away and fizzed away. It was the perfect dissolving speed -It wasn't too fast/slow and it went slower towards the end. The colors stayed on-top of the surface until I mixed it all up too!
Parts of the bath were full with different colors and popping candy everywhere, then the other side of the bath, there was pastel colors, which I just LOVED! There was a rainbow pattern (like you can see here -which naturally formed) swirling through it so I decided to have some fun with it and make some bath art! So I gently swished it around in a spiral and you were left with popping candy, pastel rainbow heaven. I love the white, silky milk like colour that was included in it too! The whole bath just looked like a rainbow had exploded!
As you can see it's full of colour and surprises and it has popping candy in it to, which makes it look so cool! It made me feel happy and energetic. I don't think this is a bath bomb you want to use if you want to properly relax. Its not properly awakening either because it hasn't got a citrus scent, but it just put me in a good mood for the day. So I think this bath bomb is the best to use on a down day, the bright colors associate with happiness and so does sweet smelling things in my opinion too, so it all goes together with the theme of happiness.
The end result (the colour of the water) was coming up quite dull on camera and I couldn't really capture it that well to be honest, but it looked so beautiful and mesmerizing! It was a dark green/blue colour (turquoise) and it was like you were in the sea. Different angles you sat/layed in the bath -the colour looked different (lighter like the sea shore, or darker like you were in the depths of the sea). This bath bomb had silver glitter in and it was like the glass-looking glitter where it looks like a rainbow in different lights and all the glitter pieces were different shapes (little dots or lines). This really fitted in with the whole rainbow theme well!
It was like the sea was mixed in with the night sky. The glitter didn't flow smoothly/at all like the other products I've used that had glitter in. It looked like the night sky because the glitter glistened and flickered in the water and when you went to swish the water around the glitter didn't really flow/move about it just stayed put and sparkled like little stars.
Thankyou for reading my post! Have a nice day!
This is A bath bomb from Lush called 'Golden Wonder'. It is A Christmas special product!
It was fairly heavy as it was a big present. When you shook it you could hear something in the middle which reveals itself later in the bath. I love the design -it has A big bow on the top that puts a light layer of white foam on-top of the water. It's so cute and elegant!
It has a very citrus smell to it, but it's not like A washing up liquid lemon smell, it's like true lemon's and oranges, but it has a little undertone different smell to it as well, which I can't work out what it is, but it just smells of Christmas!
For my bath, I decided to pair it with 'Snow Melt', which is a bath melt/oil that is also A Christmas special product, and I think it was new to the 2015 range!
It smells like pure peppermint and had a hidden note of something else in it too! It smelt of Christmas when you go outside the morning after its snowed at night and taking in the fresh, crisp, cold air. It has a sort of cold/cool theme to it with it being peppermint scented. Peppermint is cooling and refreshing and uplifting, so this made you feel like that too! It also had silver glitter all over it and made the most beautiful show in the water!
When I carefully placed it in the water, it started off with dispersing gold glitter/lustre into the water... It looked like gold smoke/powder just flowing out, It was magical to watch!
The dark green/turquoise colour started to appear within seconds, and along followed the ocean/mermaid blue colour! It was after this that I let the bath bomb go, but it didn't float, it sunk to the bottom. I was so disappointed that the 3rd bath bomb I've used in a row was a dud!! I didn't know if it was something I done wrong with storing it or something went wrong in the delivery process, but I researched how people stored their lush and how I was doing it seemed to be fine! I also looked to see if other people who ordered it from online had the same problem but no one seemed to. So I guess it was just my luck, as always! The show looked so good on other peoples posts, but mine was over in a couple of seconds and the tiniest bit of purple came out and I couldn't capture it in time. There also wasn't any white foam from the bow on the top of the water or anything, it just quickly dissolved.
The end result of the water was a mermaid, turquoise blue colour with lots of gold and silver glitter everywhere, there were meant to be little gold stars floating on the top and one/two did, but all the rest (a lot) sunk to the bottom and they were hard to pick up as they were very slippery and soft and they stuck to the bottom of the bath.
The true colour was very hard to capture on camera, and depending on the angle you were sat in the bath looking at the water, it changed how you saw the water and how you felt -as you got a different atmosphere from it! Laying back and looking out to the water ahead it was dark and gloomy and like you were at the bottom of the ocean swimming around mermaids with little light. But when you sat up, the water looked clearer and brighter. With the flash on, it really made the glitter shine and it showed the most beautiful, bright and cheerful colour that it really was! It made me feel very calm and relaxed and like I was in the magical ocean.
My boyfriend charlie made this bath as a surprise for me and he forgot that I wanted to pair it with the snow melt. So half way through the bath (when the water was getting cold) He went and grabbed it because I really wanted it! But by the time we dropped it in the bath it sunk to the bottom too. I don't know if that's just what some bath melts do compared to others, but the previous one I used floated. It didn't bother me anyway as I just kept it floating in my hands. It took so long to dissolve that I ended up rubbing it on my body to make it go away (it made my body extra smooth anyway). After A while something actually started happening with it... It let out floating oil, but it looked like snow/powder. It looked so magical and looked like a snowy winter scene in my bath! The oil moved with you when you moved and it flowed around like snow falling from the sky! It stayed like this for a little while, but overall it took FOREVER to melt and nothing really happened! But it was probably because the water was too cold by the time I used it. I will repurchase this next year if it comes out and will definitely use it near Christmas the next time, because it would really get you in the Christmas mood. I think it was the right thing to do, pairing it with Golden Wonder too because they really go together to make the perfect snowy winter theme/scene/picture!
Thank-you for reading my blog post! Have A nice day!
Here are a couple of my favourites this month! Some other randoms, I will just write about because i was either wearing them at the time or have run out of them and other reasons. I will mabye update this and add pictures of them when i have them or am not using them!
I have got a variety of things in my favourites, from beauty to hobbies to fashion to food etc.
What I have also been loving this month is my Topshop Sports Bra. It's so comfy and i've been wearing it all the time, i've gone back to wearing normal bra's and i just don't like them anymore... Sports bra's and bralettes are what i love now because they are so much more comfortable, although i'd wear an underwired bra in the day to support... when i'm lazing around at home, which is most of the time at the moment, I will wear something more comfortable. This particular one just feels like you're not wearing a bra in a weird way but you know you are and it lifts them up so they're not completely unsupported. It covers the whole area and isn't too tight which i like, considering I have quite big boobs, and it's hard to find a bralette/sports bra that fits me well/a shop that does my size, but this is my favourite one and it was only £10.
A food favourite of mine this month has been Cadbury's Lu Chocolate Bar. Basically it's Cadbury's Chocolate, but has biscuit included too. It has the right amount of everything and it mixes a 'normal' chocolate bar up a bit. It also isn't as sickly to eat this, than a full on chocolate bar. I could eat it all the time/eat the whole thing in one because sometimes a regular chocolate bar is too much! They also do a savoury biscuit one (Ritz), and they are both very delicious. It's the right amount of savoury and sweet you want, all in one product and they have definitely put the right amount of product in the full bar! There's not too much there and not too little! They also do little snacks, as separate little packs or a three pack, for I guess pack lunches at school or something, which are cute, and they seem to have the right amount of product in there too!
I have also been loving Apple and Mango Juice. This is a random favourite, but I have just been drinking this a lot this month. I don't drink coke anymore really, unless i need that extra sugar kick, or if i'm really craving it one day, but even then i won't even fill half a glass with it in. I'm glad I don't drink it anymore to be honest, because this seems silly to say, but i've noticed a massive difference in my skin by not drinking it anymore, and converting to juice and squash! It's not all about the face products you put on your skin to make you look better, it's the things you consume into your body and I definitely noticed that coke was one of mine! I have tried the orange and mango juice but the orange just overpowers it, and i've tried plain mango juice, but the apple and mango juice just seems to taste better and has a nice balance of flavours! I don't drink too much of it though, but even if I did, it's WAY much better than all the coke and fizzy drinks I used to drink. I'm so proud of myself with that!
