This is A bath bomb from Lush called 'Golden Wonder'. It is A Christmas special product!
It was fairly heavy as it was a big present. When you shook it you could hear something in the middle which reveals itself later in the bath. I love the design -it has A big bow on the top that puts a light layer of white foam on-top of the water. It's so cute and elegant!
It has a very citrus smell to it, but it's not like A washing up liquid lemon smell, it's like true lemon's and oranges, but it has a little undertone different smell to it as well, which I can't work out what it is, but it just smells of Christmas!
For my bath, I decided to pair it with 'Snow Melt', which is a bath melt/oil that is also A Christmas special product, and I think it was new to the 2015 range!
It smells like pure peppermint and had a hidden note of something else in it too! It smelt of Christmas when you go outside the morning after its snowed at night and taking in the fresh, crisp, cold air. It has a sort of cold/cool theme to it with it being peppermint scented. Peppermint is cooling and refreshing and uplifting, so this made you feel like that too! It also had silver glitter all over it and made the most beautiful show in the water!
When I carefully placed it in the water, it started off with dispersing gold glitter/lustre into the water... It looked like gold smoke/powder just flowing out, It was magical to watch!
The dark green/turquoise colour started to appear within seconds, and along followed the ocean/mermaid blue colour! It was after this that I let the bath bomb go, but it didn't float, it sunk to the bottom. I was so disappointed that the 3rd bath bomb I've used in a row was a dud!! I didn't know if it was something I done wrong with storing it or something went wrong in the delivery process, but I researched how people stored their lush and how I was doing it seemed to be fine! I also looked to see if other people who ordered it from online had the same problem but no one seemed to. So I guess it was just my luck, as always! The show looked so good on other peoples posts, but mine was over in a couple of seconds and the tiniest bit of purple came out and I couldn't capture it in time. There also wasn't any white foam from the bow on the top of the water or anything, it just quickly dissolved.
The end result of the water was a mermaid, turquoise blue colour with lots of gold and silver glitter everywhere, there were meant to be little gold stars floating on the top and one/two did, but all the rest (a lot) sunk to the bottom and they were hard to pick up as they were very slippery and soft and they stuck to the bottom of the bath.
The true colour was very hard to capture on camera, and depending on the angle you were sat in the bath looking at the water, it changed how you saw the water and how you felt -as you got a different atmosphere from it! Laying back and looking out to the water ahead it was dark and gloomy and like you were at the bottom of the ocean swimming around mermaids with little light. But when you sat up, the water looked clearer and brighter. With the flash on, it really made the glitter shine and it showed the most beautiful, bright and cheerful colour that it really was! It made me feel very calm and relaxed and like I was in the magical ocean.
My boyfriend charlie made this bath as a surprise for me and he forgot that I wanted to pair it with the snow melt. So half way through the bath (when the water was getting cold) He went and grabbed it because I really wanted it! But by the time we dropped it in the bath it sunk to the bottom too. I don't know if that's just what some bath melts do compared to others, but the previous one I used floated. It didn't bother me anyway as I just kept it floating in my hands. It took so long to dissolve that I ended up rubbing it on my body to make it go away (it made my body extra smooth anyway). After A while something actually started happening with it... It let out floating oil, but it looked like snow/powder. It looked so magical and looked like a snowy winter scene in my bath! The oil moved with you when you moved and it flowed around like snow falling from the sky! It stayed like this for a little while, but overall it took FOREVER to melt and nothing really happened! But it was probably because the water was too cold by the time I used it. I will repurchase this next year if it comes out and will definitely use it near Christmas the next time, because it would really get you in the Christmas mood. I think it was the right thing to do, pairing it with Golden Wonder too because they really go together to make the perfect snowy winter theme/scene/picture!
